Innoventes Technology approached us to develop a distinct identity and visual language for a new division, Obidos Labs. The name draws inspiration from Óbidos, a Brazilian town located at the narrowest, and therefore fastest-flowing, section of the Amazon River. This metaphor reflects the division’s purpose: to operate at the forefront of product innovation.
Obidos Labs was envisioned as a hub for cutting-edge development, with a strong emphasis on the integration of ethical AI and the creation of highly specialised solutions. Its scope extends beyond external client offerings, supporting internal innovation across the company as well.
For the identity, we designed a bold, geometric typeface with angular cuts, drawing on the character of 1990s digital fonts, but reinterpreted with a playful, contemporary edge. The final “o” becomes a focal point, subtly depicting a river where tension builds and then bursts outward, echoing the underlying metaphor. Meanwhile, the “s” flows seamlessly into “labs,” creating a compact, cohesive lockup that feels both dynamic and instantly recognisable.
The typographic system was selected to convey credibility, clarity, and a sense of global appeal, while making a complex, highly technical field feel more approachable and human. Given that AI often evokes strong and varied reactions across audiences, we intentionally set out to soften and humanise the overall visual tone of communication.
This approach extends across the entire visual language, from colour palettes rooted in purples and blues, to the use of gradients, and fluid, morphing shapes. Together, these elements express empathy, intelligence, and a quiet sophistication, reinforcing both the firm’s technical expertise and its human-centred perspective.
Extending the brand into the digital space, we designed the website as a fully responsive, future-ready platform. Its most significant impact lies in how it repositions Innoventes. Transforming the legacy presence into a modern expression of the brand’s renewed values and expanded capabilities. Built with a focus on clarity, approachability, and a people-first mindset, the site balances technical depth with an intuitive, human tone. The result is a confident digital experience that elevates the company’s perception, positioning it as a forward-thinking leader in AI with strong global appeal.
